Giving the Story Room to Breathe

Stories, like journeys, aren’t meant to be rushed | Janelle Nightingale

Reflections on the new release date for Fields of Resilience When I first began writing Fields of Resilience, I had a vision—and a timeline. I marked April 2025 as the release date with conviction. It felt symbolic. Grounded. Achievable. It was also the first time I had ever tried to publish a coffee table book. […]

The Stories That Photos Can’t Tell

Some stories defy capture. They linger in the air, woven between the people who live them and the landscapes that hold their histories. They aren’t just about what you see—they’re about what you feel. As I continue writing Fields of Resilience, I find myself returning to this challenge. Chapter 3 focuses on Agri Planet Africa, […]

Behind the Lens: Stories That Inspired Fields of Resilience

Uganda Winding Road Sunset | Janelle Nightingale

Behind the lens, photography has always been more than just capturing images for me—it’s about preserving emotions, telling untold stories, and uncovering the depth of human connection. Fields of Resilience was born from this perspective, a collection of moments that shaped my journey in Uganda and the lessons they left behind. Each image in this […]

Introducing Fields of Resilience: A Dream Realized

I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember. Stories—especially from different cultures and places—always fascinated me. Growing up, this passion wasn’t exactly nurtured, but it also wasn’t discouraged. Still, I held onto that curiosity and dream. In January 2023, I shared with my friend Hollie Stuart—an inspiring author and speaker—that she could expect […]

Agri Planet Africa – My Involvement as Executive Director

At Agri Planet Africa, we rely on the farmers in our community to provide us with cow manure which we use to produce our products.

I am Janelle Nightingale, the Executive Director of Agri Planet Africa. We create sustainable and ecologically responsible organic fertilizer for commercial use. We are dedicated to working with local farmers and providing them with economically viable products for the benefit of the environment.

We source our manure from local cows and pay their owners a fair price for it. When cows become ill or reach end-of-life, we buy them from farms instead of selling them to butcheries. This reflects our commitment to sustainability that goes beyond product production and into our core business activities.

We prioritize hiring locally when possible, providing jobs to members in our community and strengthening pride amongst those living near us. We also implement onsite conservation practices such as water recycling systems and energy-efficient lighting systems; all packaging materials used are recyclable or compostable as well.

At Agri Planet Africa, I’m proud of the team’s mission — creating lasting bonds with local farmers, investing in sustainable solutions, partnering with animal rights groups, creating employment opportunities within rural areas; as well as using recyclable or compostable packaging materials — All towards achieving a greener future!
